The first-ever Michael Kors fashion show in Shanghai was a jet set night of glamour, fame and fabulous fashion. 

WHO

1,000 VIP guests including Hollywood stars like Hilary Swank, Freida Pinto, Camilla Belle, fashion world darlings Karmen Pedaru, Miranda Kerr, Isabeli Fontana and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley among others.

WHAT

An expansive, 360-degree event that immersed the audience in music, moving images and emotion, a never-before-seen runway show featuring a signature Michael Kors Jet Set Collection and a glamorous party with music by New York-based DJ collective The Misshapes.

WHERE

A private 30,000-square-foot jet hangar at Hongqiao Airport near Shanghai.

WHY

To celebrate the opening of the first Michael Kors China flagship at the Jing’An Kerry Centre and to introduce local customers to the jet set lifestyle that is the DNA of the brand. 

The day before the Michael Kors Jet Set Experience and his first-ever fashion show in Shanghai, we follow the designer from dress rehearsal to dinner and all the fashionable appointments in between.

I woke up early to catch up on the news before getting out of bed. Today’s schedule is packed but I don’t like rushing in the mornings, especially when jet-lagged.

We’re putting the final finishing touches on tomorrow’s show. My team has worked for months making sure the night goes off without a hitch and it’s such a thrill to see it all finally come to life! The models in the show are simply divine.

Sneaking in time to pick up a few souvenirs. The cashmere scarves at Ruyee Life Gallery boutique on the Bund are so luxe and make fabulous gifts for friends and family back home.

One part plunging lace, one part color-pop skirt and all parts glamorous –the model looked impeccable for her moment in the spotlight. Watch as she gets primped and prettied for the big event...
